‘Smile’ was scheduled to be the 7th and final single released from Michael Jackson’s HIStory album. Sony planned to release in CD and 12″ vinyl on December 28, 1997. However, it was cancelled at the last minute and only a few copies, mostly promos, went into circulation in the UK, South Africa and the Netherlands. All copies were almost immediately withdrawn and ordered to be destroyed by Sony. VERY few copies exist and this is undoubtedly the most wanted 12” single among Michael Jackson collectors.
